The Young Ones staff works closely as a team, and while each child has an individual designated Keyworker, each and every child is reviewed by the team. This ensures that all possible inputs are considered and the best decisions are reached. Our philosophy at The Young Ones is observe, listen, evaluate, review and plan the next steps. This applies to everything we do, not just to learning and play, and we are always looking to see where improvements can be made.
We encourage STC (Somerset Total Communication) with four qualified staff that cascade to children and other staff. We have clear pictures, messages and a safety book and lots of signing and signing during circle time.
All our Staff our First Aid trained and have basic training in Child Protection. Two staff are Qualified as Child Protection Designated Persons. If you have any Safeguarding issues please contact either Jane Bowditch or Sam Gosney on 01935 433365.
